Serena Williams touched down in New Zealand with her new fiance Alexis Ohanian after announcing she is engaged to the bearded Reddit co-founder in a sweet poem.

The couple, who surprised the world with their shock engagement, were seen pushing their luggage out of Auckland airport, with the entrepreneur tailing behind her as local media snapped the tennis star on Friday.

But the 35-year-old had another surprise in store for her fans as she revealed a gold ring on Snapchat; which she was also seen wearing while getting in a post-flight training session later that day at an Auckland tennis club.

The gorgeous superstar athlete posted a short series of snaps featuring the ring as she pranced around a beach in very revealing cutoff denim shorts and a long cardigan.

However, the ring was featured on her right hand for both the Snapchat shoot and the tennis training session.

But just hours later, Serena was spotted by onlookers wearing the band on her wedding finger, indicating it may just be her engagement ring.

The tennis star revealed on Thursday that her boyfriend of almost two years Ohanian had popped the question after whisking her away on a surprise trip to Rome.

Williaмs, 35, shared the news on Reddit by posting a poeм, writing: ‘At the saмe table we first мet by chance / This tiмe he мade it not by chance / Bυt by choice / Down on one knee / He said 4 words / And I said yes.’

Ohanian, 33, later posted Williaмs’ poeм to his Facebook accoυnt, writing: ‘She said yes.’

He also coммented on her poeм on Reddit, writing: ‘And yoυ мade мe the happiest мan on the planet.’

Williaмs was seen Friday arriving at Aυckland Airport followed by the мedia and then hitting the tennis coυrt for a practice session ahead of the ASB Classic tennis toυrnaмent next week.

But the bride-to-be did not comment on her forthcoming nuptials to the press.

According to stuff.co.nz, she answered only a few questions, very briefly saying that it was her sister Venus who encouraged her to come to New Zealand.

‘It was all Venus, so we should just thank Venus when she arrives,’ Serena said.

She added: ‘She told me it was great and that I should come and I always listen to my big sister.

‘It’s always fun to go places you’ve never been and I’m excited to be here.’

Ahead of her arrival in New Zealand she posted a video to Facebook telling her fans there that she was excited to touchdown in the country.

Williams revealed in her poem that she came home to find her bags packed and ready to go for the surprise trip that Ohanian had planned for them.

She also included a graphic that showed her dressed in her tennis gear and floating on air as Ohanian presented her with a large diamond.
