Keanu Reeves’ HUGE salary for all four John Wick films is revealed as fans eagerly await the release of the fifth film in the franchise

Keanu Reeves‘ huge salary for all four John Wick films has been revealed, as fans of the franchise eagerly await news of when the fifth movie will drop.

The Canadian actor, 59, saw a steady rise in his earnings for the action films as the franchise gained momentum.

But a budget increase for the fourth flick saw Keanu’s pay soar, earning him a whopping $15million (£12million), according to JustJared.

John Wick follows the life of the eponymous character, a legendary hit-man who came out of retirement to get revenge on the men who killed his dog.

The first film, simply called John Wick, debuted in 2014 and earned the star a base salary of between $1million and $2million (£787,000 and £1.6million).

Keanu saw a modest jump in pay when the film was green-lit for a sequel – John Wick Chapter 2 –  which came out in 2017.

For the eagerly anticipated second film, Keanu made been $2million and $2.5million (£1.6million and £1.9million).

In 2019, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, the third film in the franchise, took just 10 days to become the highest grossing film of the franchise so far.

It is not known how much money Keanu made from Chapter 3, but as the film franchise’s budget increased steadily, it’s likely his salary did also.

John Wick: Chapter 4 premiered in March 2023 and a huge budget increase saw it become the most expensive film of the franchise.

For the fourth instalment, the actor made a whopping $15million (£12million) – seven times what he was paid for the first film nine years earlier.

Despite main character John seemingly dying at the end of the fourth film, in May 2023 it was confirmed that a fifth flick was in the works.

The chair of Lionsgate’s motion picture group, Joe Drake, recently revealed that the assassin would return to the big screen in the near future during a recent earnings call.

The entertainment industry figure also expressed that the John Wick franchise, which recently hit the $1 billion mark, would grow exponentially in the coming years.

Joe began by stating via Total Film that, although the hit-man would return in another feature, several other elements of his world would be fleshed out through separate media projects.

‘What is official is that, as you know, Ballerina is the first spin-off that comes out next year. We’re in development on three others, including [John Wick 5] and including a television series,’ he said.

But a time-frame has not yet been given for when the fifth film might drop, and fans are keen to hear some news about its release.

Sharing a picture of Keanu in rehearsals for a film with Keke Palmer, one person on X, formerly Twitter, said: ‘Ik that’s not John Wick, JOHN wrong set baby we waiting on 5.’

‘Gone and make John Wick 5 and be done cause y’all left too many clues and open doors in 4,’ another wrote, replying to a post about a John Wick spin-off series.

An eager third fan said: ‘I’m just waiting for John Wick 5 fr.’

John Wick: Chapter Four was released in the United States on March 24, and it has since grossed nearly $429million worldwide

Pouring water on hopes of an imminent release, media figure Joe confirmed that development on the fifth main entry in the film series would take time.

However, he did say the character would definitely return in the future.

‘We’re building out the world and when that [fifth] movie comes, [it] will be organic — will be organically grown out of how we’re starting to tell those stories. But you can rely on a regular cadence of John Wick,’ he stated.

Drake then remarked that Lionsgate was committed to creating ‘a steady cadence of a franchise’ in response to ‘clear appetite by the audience.’

John Wick: Chapter Four was released in the United States on March 24, and it has since grossed nearly $429million (£338million) worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.

The movie also received rave reviews from critics and currently holds a 94% rating from Rotten Tomatoes.
