Another day, another Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez story to report — this time, it involves Hailey Baldwin and couples therapy. (Yes, we are aware.) According to “connected to Hillsong Church” sources, JB and Sel are in couples counseling after he contacted his ex. So, what allegedly occurred? Let’s dissect it.
According to the report, Justin has been concentrating on his faith as he has gotten closer to Hillsong pastor Carl Lentz. As part of his spiritual awakening, the “Sorry” singer is attempting to atone for past transgressions, such as apologizing to Hailey for how their fling and subsequent “sour” breakup ended. When JB informed Selena that he had spoken with Hailey, the former Wizards of Waverly Place star was reportedly upset that he had been communicating with his ex-girlfriend. That is what prompted them to seek couples therapy. (At first, it was reported that Selena’s mother, Mandy Teefey, went to the hospital after hearing the news.)
If you recall, Justin and Hailey’s relationship had a complicated start and a mysterious end. There had always been flirting and rumors that they were more than friends, but it all went downhill in the last few years. When JB went on vacation in early 2016, he posted an Instagram photo of himself kissing Hailey. Although Hailey and Jailey later divorced, there was never any bad blood between them.
In 2016, Hailey denied rumors of a feud, telling Us Weekly, “I think it stinks that people try to start things like that.” First and foremost, there is never any truth to that. She’s a lovely young lady. She is very nice. Her and I have a lot of mutual friends, and everything is fine between us. We go around in circles.”
Sel then liked a photo of Hailey in September 2017. They appeared to be on good terms. Fighting? No way!
While Selena did criticize Justin for being so open about his relationship with Sofia Richie, she never specifically mentioned Hailey. So, either times have changed or Jelena may no longer be in couples counseling due to his ex. Furthermore, Hailey has recently become close to Shawn Mendes, indicating that she has progressed in her own life.
While it appears that Jelena is on the mend, it appears that they are working hard to ensure that their reunion is unlike previous ones. Whatever works, right?
