People’s Choice Awards have recently announced its nominees and it seems that that is all anyone can talk about, at the moment. Awards season has been in full swing, with some very iconic moments leading to a range of buzz online, both positive and negative. Various very well-known projects have earned nominations after having worked very hard for them. Regardless, when it comes to these specific awards, it is the public that will decide who will win.

The category of Best Action Movie Star was also announced and the nominees have fans stirring, considering how vast and unexpected they are. Keanu Reeves and Tom Cruise have managed to win nominations through their respective films. Interestingly enough, so have Brie Larson and Gal Gadot.

Keanu Reeves released John Wick: Chapter 4 in March 2023, the final part of his critically acclaimed film series. The film took the internet by storm, not only because it was highly anticipated and the ending to an iconic series, but also because it killed off his character. This was something that broke the fans’ hearts, which only increased the conversation around the movie. On top of this, Reeves’ performance in the film was spectacular, having the most captivating action sequences out of all the previous three films.

On the other hand, Tom Cruise released the second-last part of his beloved spy-film series, Mission: Impossible. Called Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, the film featured an exceptional cast of actors and was following a legacy of immense love by fans. Considering just how talked about these two actors and films were, it is no surprise that they managed to snag a nomination in the People’s Choice Awards’ Best Action Movie Star.
Brie Larson and Gal Gadot Have Also Been Nominated
While it was expected that Keanu Reeves and Tom Cruise’s names would appear in the list of this year’s nominees for Awards, specifically the People’s Choice Awards, some other names have left fans quite surprised. Gal Gadot has been nominated for her work in her film, Heart of Stone. The film had very high expectations from fans, however, the film deeply disappointed fans, leading to it possessing a 30% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Brie Larson was also nominated in the category of Best Action Movie Action, for her film for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Marvels. The film did not work well and found it difficult to even get an audience. It failed for a series of reasons and managed to become one of the worst-doing films for the franchise. It is safe to say that fans are very surprised by these nominees.
